Living in Waterloo

Waterloo was incorporated as a town municipality in 1867 and received city status in 1890. The arrival of the railway in 1861 sparked rapid growth, and the former railway line is now the L'Estriade bike path. The city stretches along the shores of Lac Waterloo, at the foot of Methodist Hill. Families, retirees and commuters live here, taking advantage of the access to Highway 10.
