Bromont was founded in 1964 by brothers Roland and Germain Désourdy, on the territory of West Shefford and Adamsville. Located halfway between Montréal and Sherbrooke along Highway 10, it combines a four-season mountain resort with an industrial hub where IBM, General Electric and Teledyne DALSA have set up operations. The equestrian events of the 1976 Olympic Games were held here. Families, tech-sector professionals, retirees and outdoor enthusiasts live here.
