Pointe-Calumet stretches along the shore of the Lac des Deux Montagnes, very close to Oka National Park. Its name is said to recall that representatives of the Iroquoian peoples once gathered there to smoke the calumet. Since 1916, its beaches have drawn summer vacationers, so much so that a sign nicknamed it the “Petit Old Orchard du Québec” during the Second World War. Incorporated in 1953 after separating from Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, the municipality saw its many cottages gradually become year-round homes. Today, the Super Aqua Club water park attracts families from across the region.
