L'Épiphanie developed along the Rivière de l'Achigan, whose rapids attracted mills as early as the 18th century. In the early 20th century, the crossing of two railway lines made it a small industrial centre, with a furniture factory, a cigar manufacturer and a mineral water bottled on site. After the industrial decline, the city turned to residential development, and the town and parish merged in 2018. Today it combines a village core and a vast agricultural territory, appreciated by families and retirees.
