Mascouche is crossed by the Mascouche River and Highway 25, while Highway 640 runs along the southern edge of its territory. Originally the parish of Saint-Henri-de-Mascouche, founded in the mid-18th century, it took its current name in 1971 and has seen strong residential growth ever since. The montée Masson, its main commercial artery, leads to Vieux-Mascouche, and the station that opened in 2014 connects the city to Montreal by train. Families and daily commuters make up a large part of the population.
