Living in Saint-Jérôme

Nicknamed “the capital of the Laurentians” or “the Queen of the North,” Saint-Jérôme developed along the Rivière du Nord. Father Antoine Labelle, parish priest there since 1868, secured the arrival of the railway in 1876 to open up settlement of the North. The current city was born on January 1, 2002, from the merger of Saint-Jérôme, Bellefeuille, Lafontaine and Saint-Antoine. It appeals to families and commuters as well as to students and health network workers.
