Living in Montréal-Ouest

Montréal-Ouest was founded in 1897 around a Canadian Pacific junction, on former farmland. The town hall, built in 1910 on the site of a former stagecoach inn, bears witness to its beginnings. Nicknamed “The Garden Suburb,” it is a small community made up mostly of single-family homes. Merged with Montreal in 2002, it regained its autonomy in 2006.
