Living in Saint-Félix-de-Valois

Saint-Félix-de-Valois stretches across a broad plain at the foot of the foothills, about fifteen minutes north of Joliette. The first settlers established themselves there around 1825, and the parish, separated from Sainte-Élisabeth in 1844, is named after Saint Felix of Valois, co-founder of the Trinitarian order. Separated in 1926, the village and the parish joined together on December 24, 1997 to form the current municipality. Long at the forefront of regional poultry farming, Saint-Félix saw the birth in 1929 of Quebec's first poultry producers' cooperative. Today it is a lively village with rural farm roads and a network of outdoor trails.
