Founded in 1958, Brossard was planned in the 1960s in lettered sectors, each with streets beginning with the same letter as the sector. Merged with Longueuil in 2002, it became an independent city again in 2006 and is one of the South Shore cities that have seen strong growth. Since 2023, three REM stations connect it to downtown Montreal, and the Quartier DIX30 and Solar Uniquartier have made it a major commercial and residential hub. Families, professionals and daily commuters live side by side here.
