Pointe-Claire stretches between Lac Saint-Louis to the south and Highway 40 to the north. Its historic village grew up around the point where the Saint-Joachim church and a windmill built in 1709 stand. Highways 20 and 40 cross it from east to west, and two REM stations have operated there since May 2026. Families live here in residential areas such as Valois, Cedar Park and Lakeside, and there is significant commercial activity around Fairview.
