Living in Napierville

Napierville is a compact town, completely surrounded by Saint-Cyprien-de-Napierville and crossed from south to north by the L'Acadie River. It owes its name to Napier Christie Burton, lord of the manor, and was founded in 1815 as a seigneurial village. In November 1838, thousands of Patriots camped there and Dr. Robert Nelson proclaimed the establishment of a provisional republic. Today the town offers services, shops and neighbourhood life to a varied population, from families to retirees.

“Few towns of this size can say that a declaration of independence was read there; that gives the streets of old Napierville a very distinctive character.”
