Living in Saint-Mathieu

Incorporated in 1917 from part of the territory of Saint-Philippe, Saint-Mathieu is a rural municipality whose land is almost entirely devoted to agriculture. The Rivière de la Tortue winds through it before joining the St. Lawrence. The village, centred around rue Principale and its church, has kept a peaceful character and is accessible via Highways 15 and 30. Residents are mostly established families, farmers and people looking for peace and quiet.
