In Prévost, the value of each property is recorded in the municipal assessment roll, which can be consulted on the website of Prévost or of the MRC de La Rivière-du-Nord. This assessment is used to calculate property tax, and the welcome tax when it exceeds the price paid. It is valid for three years and is based on the market at an earlier reference date, which is why it can be far from the current selling price.

Nature and hiking
The cliffs of Prévost, in the Mont Shaw area, are among the closest climbing sites to Montreal, and a network of trails leads to lookouts over the valley. The Comité régional pour la protection des falaises, a volunteer organization, looks after the nature reserve and its trails.

The municipal assessment is used to calculate property tax. It is entered on the assessment roll for three years and is based on the market at an earlier reference date, which is why it can differ from the price a buyer would pay today. Market value, on the other hand, is based on recent comparable sales in the area.
The municipal assessment roll is public. You can consult it on the Prévost or MRC de La Rivière-du-Nord website, often by address or lot number. During our evaluation, we also check it for you.
From January to September 2026, 131 single-family homes were sold in Prévost, at a median price of $625,000 (2025: $612,000). Your property may be worth more or less: the free evaluation compares your home with sales in your area.
The work that reassures buyers is what pays off most: roof, windows, electrical and plumbing up to date. Next come the kitchen and bathrooms, fresh paint and exterior touch-ups. Keep all your invoices: they support your price when it's time to sell.
The market moves quickly: an opinion of value reflects sales from the past few months. If you sell several months after the evaluation, or if recent sales change the picture in your area, ask us for an update, free and with no obligation.
